Valorie Spence, Allied Member ASID

 

After three years studying architecture, Valorie made the switch to Interior Design work learning Auto-CAD and 20-20 kitchen
design software.  In 1999, she  formed Interior Design Solutions.  Now as an award winning lead designer for her firm she works
with many of the luxury hotels as well as home ownersbuilders, architects, and developers.  Valorie recently completed the
GREEN leaders Certified Sustainability Training to qualify as the only “Expert in Green Residential” in Hawaii.

Michelle is a Magna Cum Laude Honor graduate of Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (NCA and FIDER Accredited)
Denver, Colorado.  She received her
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design in  2001 from University of Colorado; Boulder,
Colorado.  Her work experience includes: Philip K. White & Associates Architecture and Planning, Honolulu; Pacific Atelier
International Architecture, Interiors, and Planning, Honolulu;
Eco-Products, Boulder, Colorado; Pocci Design Group Interior
Design, Boulder, Colorado (Internship).

  

She achieved NCIDQ certification in April 2008 and is an ASID Professional Member.

 Shirley Wagner, ASID

 

Shirley Wagner, ASID, Principal Designer and Owner of Fine Design Interiors, has worked on residential and commercial
interior design projects throughout the Hawaiian Islands, the Mainland and the Caribbean since 1987. Her designs have
been both widely published and recognized over the years. She has received numerous awards including, three ASID
awards in 2007 and again in 2009 for the renowned Hawaii architect Charles Dickey Historic House in Honolulu and most
recently two ASID awards in September 2010 for the Hokulia Resort residence.

Her ability to listen to the client’s wishes and then skillfully select architectural materials, forms, furnishings, colors,
textures and art results in beautiful interiors. Tastefully blending all design elements together Shirley creates, with her
client, a sanctuary for living.

Serena Waddel, Student Member ASID

 

Serena Waddel is currently a full-time junior at Chaminade University, working on her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.
A California native, Serena moved to Hawaii in 2003 to attend the University of Hawaii. Upon graduation in 2008 she moved
to Yosemite, California to gain art experience at The Ansel Adams Gallery. Inspired by natural beauty, her work reflects her
desire to merge modern metropolitan life with the intrinsic balance of nature.

Her work recent experience includes an internship at Graham Builders in Honolulu where she worked closely with the design
team on residential design projects and a work study at Chaminade University, where she worked closely with Dept. Director
Joan Riggs on campus design projects, including the recent Eiben Hall renovations. She received the 2011 ASID Hawaii
Student Division Award of Merit. Over the past summer she helped to organized and establish IDpro, Chaminade University’s
on-campus Interior Design organization and now serves as its the Vice-President.
